Magnesium information.

Magnesium is a very important mineral and magnesium information is not that plentiful.

Magnesium is in very short supply in our diets. To my knowledge there is no magnesium added to agricultural fertilisers because plants don’t need it, BUT WE DO!

Whilst we are now making great strides in our knowledge of stem cells and while I am sure this is going to be a wonderful thing we still need to provide our bodies with its essential nutrients.

Most of our food is very short of this important mineral. A scientific review concluded. “It is highly regrettable that the deficiency of such an inexpensive low-toxicity nutrient results in diseases that cause incalculable suffering and expense throughout the world." (Med Hypotheses 2001 Feb; 56(2): 163-70)

Here is some more important information.

The following was reported in Wikipedia. "Observations of reduced dietary magnesium intake in modern Western countries as compared to earlier generations may be related to food refining and MODERN FERTILISERS CONTAIN NO MAGNESIUM" (The capitals are mine)

Unfortunately there is a problem associated with having the body absorb magnesium. Unless you can acquire it from a natural source you can literally take magnesium by the bucket load.

Use Magnesium citrate, taurate or orotate and support it with vitamin B6, vitamin D and selenium. These extra supplements will support your body's ability to utilise the Magnesium.

To be absorbed magnesium has to be supported by vitamins, particularly vitamin D and even then the absorption rate is normally quite low. However it can have a pronounced effect on our health in many ways.

Stem cells technology is making great progress which I am sure will enhance our future healthcare tremendously, but in the meantime provide your body with its essential minerals like magnesium.
