A real healthy nutrition guide is a hard to find.
Why is this?
Most of our food is now heavily based on carbohydrates because proteins are now in short supply and are becoming very expensive.
Another difficulty is that the taste for sweet things now dominates our food preferences and sugar or sugar substitutes are now found in nearly everything we eat.
A 1999 report stated that sugar consumption in America was 159 pounds per year and is now steadily climbing.
That’s almost half a pound per day! nearly 200 grams.
On top of that our food is now also loaded with sugar substitutes.
No wonder we have a weight problem,
No wonder a healthy nutrition guide is not only going to be difficult to find but also hard to follow.
Luckily this problem is now starting to become recognised.
An American, Robert H. Lustig, MD, UCSF. Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, at a large university has written a book on sugar which he calls “PURE WHITE AND DEADLY”.
Herein this learned professor calls sugar a poison.
When you recognise that a healthy nutrition requires a reasonable amount of protein and that protein is unfortunately expensive as it must come from animal or fish sources including eggs.
It is no wonder that protein is in short supply.
Carbohydrates are cheap and easier to come by.
